So I decided to transform this old wooden hexagon coffee table into something more interesting. I got it on Kijiji for 25 bucks and thought the shape of it was very beautiful but would like to change it to something that would match better in my living room.

Instead of just painting it a boring color I really wanted to add some texture. At first I thought of painting it black on white crackle texture but looking through the paint section of my local Home Depot store, Rust-oleum accents stone spray paint caught my eye. So I bought 2 cans.

So I started by bringing my table outside on piece of cardboard sand it all down and cleaned it up and got busy. The application was very different from regular spray paint, in came out like confetti.

I did end up running out of spray paint and ran to the Canadian Tire store up the street and picked up more cans this time from Krylon make it stone! There were on sale for $6.40 which was awesome. So I purchased four more cans which came out to the same price of the two Rust-oleum which were $11.78 each.

I will be putting a clear topcoat just to make sure to protect the paint.

I really like that's it not a solid color but there's a nice variation from light to dark to make it look very much like stone.

I'm very happy with the finished product I find it looks very beautiful in the living room and a new stone coffee table for 80 bucks who can beat that ;)
